Carter LeCraw, CEO and chairman, founded American Values Investments (formerly LeCraw Investment Management, Inc.) in January of 1996. He began his career in the financial planning and investment business in 1981, and received the Certified Financial Planner (CFP) designation in 1987.
Prior to entering the financial services business, Carter taught school and spent four years on active duty as a Supply Corps Officer in the United States Navy. He attended Georgia Tech on an tennis scholarship and graduated in 1975 with a Bachelor of Science degree in Industrial Management. Carter, and his wife Dr. Deborah E. LeCraw, have a son, Peter.
Chief Investment Officer
George Parks, Vice-President and Chairman of the Investment Committee, joined American Values Investments in March 2001. He earned the Certified Financial Planner designation in March 2004.
Prior to entering the financial services business, George spent 20 years working for Belk, Inc., a privately owned department store group. He began his career as a management trainee and advanced to Division President. He graduated from Davidson College in 1980 majoring in Economics.
George has served as a Trustee and Elder for Central Presbyterian Church in Bristol, Virginia. He has also served as a member of the Board of Trustees of King College, as director of the local United Way and as a director of the local Chamber of Commerce. Currently, George serves as a member of the Mission Responsibility Through Investment Committee of the Presbyterian Church USA.
George, and his wife Beth, have a daughter, Kimberly.
Diana Hodge, Operations Manager and Compliance Coordinator, joined American Values Investments in March, 2000. Prior to coming to American Values Investments, Diana was Executive Director of Assistance Resource Ministries (a non-profit ministry providing assistance to those in need). She graduated from Milligan College with a degree in Organizational Management.
Diana, and her husband Hugh, have a son, Nathan. Over the years they have worked in children's ministry, Bible school and with the AWANA program at Hunter First Baptist Church in Elizabethton, Tennessee. Hugh and Diana love to travel and have now visited all 50 states.
Benny Van Huss
Benny Van Huss, Company Research Analyst, joined American Values Investments in 2006.
Previously, Mr. Van Huss spent 32 years with Eastman Chemical Company where he worked in various capacities including Training, Manufacturing Operations, and Quality Management. There he also helped develop Standard Operating Procedures and Safety Certifications.
In addition to his professional career, Mr. Van Huss teaches Sunday School at Trinity Baptist Church in Jonesborough, Tennessee. He enjoys playing golf, watching the History Channel, traveling, Bible studies and family gatherings (especially when his grandson is around).
He has been married to his wife, Pam, for 38 years and has two children, Stacey and Brad, and one grandchild, Brady.
